I did it myself with the help of Bruce Lee’s movies, books and practice in real combat verse real people:

If you want to learn Jeet Kune Do I’m sorry if you thought it would be easy but it is not a style, like your little chubby buddies going to class learning karate. You’re going to have to work hard, read his books (especially Tao of Jeet Kune Do), start eating properly, exercise, work out and spar a lot for practice. 2 main things to learn Jeet Kune Do are reading his books and practice, trust me.

My best friend sparred me everyday and one day he got jealous and wanted to fight me for real (without gloves) because he said “you can’t learn how to fight from a f*cking book idiot” o… and I proved him wrong… I was a shrimp before I watched enter the dragon. Remember that Jeet Kune Do isn’t just about the skills you learn, it’s the ability to use them, so you have to be in shape… after all, you’re learning it to fight, whenever some blubber gut 200-300 lb fat ass challenges me to a fight I rofl, kick his ass, and walk home.

I wish you good fortune and will, work on your abdominals, and remember muscle and flexibility = Ying and Yang. you need both of them but not too much of one.

Most citys have a jkd some where so I’d search google re: your city/town.

Failing that there are plenty of books/videos out there to give you an idea where to start.

But Remember books/videos can never replace personal one on one tuition.

    Best wishes :) ***

Careful to join any JKD classes, seriously. I went to one and they wouldn’t take me seriously because I was 16 not 18 years old. They also asked if I was Christian. They had some big stuntman who taught JKD and it looked NOTHING like Bruce Lee’s style. Why? Because Jeet Kun Do is NOT a martial arts, it’s a philosophy you HAVE to learn by Bruce Lee’s BOOKS.

I’m seriously. When someone sponsers JKD to teach it to you, watch them carefully. If you sense something’s wrong/fishy, DO NOT take it. I had a bad experience with those people, so please, just read the books, watch his films, and create your own style. Bruce Lee doesn’t want you to be in his shadow, just use his guidelines with his films and his books so you’ll be able to create your own style just like him.

That’s his concept. Take in what you learn, throw out what you don’t need. Create your own martial arts, don’t stick to one.
    :)

contact the Inosanto academy http://inosanto.com/ and ask if he has any instructors in your area. Sifu Inosanto was a orginal student of Bruce Lee and one of the highest ranked of students of Bruce Lee during his lifetime
In fact Sifu Inosanto instructed many of the classes at Bruce Lee’s academy
Your next step would be to go to a class watch the class and see if you would enjoy training with there
