I know some others are bashing Chuck Norris, which seems a bit unfair as Chuck has been an iconic figure in the world of martial arts for decades. He is a world class leader in karate and is highly respected for his accomplishments, his demeanor, and his contribution to martial arts, film, and television.
Having said that, I don’t think ANYONE can come close to touching Bruce Lee’s commitment to truly being a student of all martial arts and a master of many. He began with a base in wing chun kung fu and moved on to study a number of arts from diverse backgrounds. This led to the formation of Jeet Kune Do, which encouraged the use of different ideas, forms, and techniques from different arts.
Bruce was extraordinarily well versed in many styles and as such has a more diverse base to draw from than someone like Chuck, who is really known for his excellence in karate only. If we’re talking about overall knowledge of all martial arts, my vote goes to Bruce.
you can’t compare apples and oranges. they each had different fighting styles. both studied and taught multiple styles, none of which overlapped. they were bothe the greatest in their respective styles. bruce lee didnt train chuck either. they only met twice in their careers.
Unfair comparison, Bruce Lee died and Chuck continued living. Hence, Chuck’s knowledge continued to expand and delved even deeper into the Martial Arts world, whereas Bruce could not. It truly is an unfair comparison. Rather than trying to figure out who was superior, I think it would be much safer to say that they are both legendary martial artists and they both deserve the utmost of respect for their contributions.
who knows martial arts better while am not Bruce or chuck so i don’t know everything they know but i know Bruce is better at martial arts just by wacthing there movies and films he’s on another level than chuck i won’t even put chuck near Bruce in fighting skills but i would say chuck has done alot for martial arts he knows alot but i don’t believe he has study all the styles like Bruce did anyways i would just pick Bruce on that one and if no one has wacth return of the dragon with chuck and Bruce fighting each other in it just look how bad chuck looks when he kick and punch he wouldn’t even be a master if you ask me he just looks bad in a bad way nothing like Bruce hey i might not think chuck should be in the top ten martial artiest ever but i like chuck am a chuck fan but he’s just not that good he knows alot but his body cant do what he knows in a fast movement like Bruce can do
Norris was more of a fighter than Lee. Lee was just a good counter puncher. Just because he wrote a book, made movies, funny faces and noises, does not mean he is a god. There are people who were and are much better. I would get into a ring with Lee( at his peak) before I got into a ring with Norris (at his peak). The next time anyone sees Norris or Lee, watch them with the eyes of an OBJECTIVE martial artist and you will see something interesting.
I say Chuck Norris. Mostly because Bruce dedicated himself more to training and study geared only for himself. His study was not directed to others. Chuck Norris has had an extra 30 years to study and teach and gain a deeper understanding of things.
Doesn’t matter how smart you are or how good or natural you are. The martial arts, like many things in life, needs time to soak and marinate. It only gets better with age.
Also, Bruce Lee studied a LOT of different things. Unlike what somewhat stated earlier, studying too many things doesn’t make you ultimate grand master of them all.. it simply makes you knowledgeable. There’s an old saying… Bruce Lee was a jack of all trades. Most people know the first half of this saying “jack of all trades… ” the second half however is “master of none.”
Bruce Lee was Martial arts’s greatest publicist. He pushed exposure like Norris pushes the bowflex. He personally was a great athlete and made a stirring recycling old ideas in martail arts. However, a lot of what he taught was already being taught and had been taught for centuries. He just simply did not get to a highly advanced level of instruction. He was the base of the pyramid and said we should build it to a point, but never looked that it was already done. He did a lot of great things.. but don’t disparage his memory by making him into more than he was. Let Bruce be great at what he was great at. There are other people who offered as much if not more. Was Bruce Lee the best fighter?? Don’t know, but I think Mas Oyama would have hurt him something bad. I saw Bruce kick people hard, but I never saw him take on a bull and kill it with a punch.
chuck norris learned from
bruce Lee, so who do you think!!!
Bruce Lee in a second.
Bruce Lee. Mr Miyaji from the Karate kid knew better martial arts then chuck norris.
The dead guy. All Chuck can do nowadays is sell a Bowflex.

Carlos (Chuck) Norris was a great friend of Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee loved being an actor.
Chuck mentioned that Bruce was one of the strongest people he knew.
I just finished the book, “Against All Odds” by Chuck Norris. I got it from the library on CD. It is read by his son.
Get it from your library. It will certainly appeal to christians. Chuck Norris has a very good message for all.
Best Wishes
.
