In Bruce Lee’s Tao of Jeet Kune Do, he mentions the importance of practicing balance. The way he suggests practicing balance is by standing on one foot. This is important because it really makes you focus on the balance, and it strengthens how well you balance in everyday situations.
If someone consider to undergo Mixed Martial Arts trainings in his early age because he wants to learn Mixed Martial Arts techniques, a lot of chances is his hands by being a flexible person as it much needed in mixed martial arts. I’m a practitioner of Jeet Kune Do but not from a school, I’m learning by my own from the book “Tao of Jeet Kune Do” and instructional videos.
Please don’t believe that I’m an ignorant and that I would never learn without a teacher, etc. I have 6 years of experience in Shotokan Karate (black belt) and 1 year in Western Boxing, I’m no newbie so believe me I know what I’m doing. Besides, JKD philosophy is meant to find a “personal” path, so there shouldn’t be any problem if I train by myself.
