Welcome back!
i want to make sure i am receiving quality care
Ive been a little lazy with my dental care and ive had a sort of awakening if you will. But i fear im a little late and have a lot to work on. Im not asking for white teeth in a day or anything, but i want a healthy mouth. I went to brush my teeth today and my gums started bleeding a little too.
So what special procedure besides just brushing for a couple minutes twice a day and flossing should i do to help my bleedingish gums and my slightly unhealthy mouth.
I am 24 years old. I did not have my teeth professionaly cleaned until about 2 years ago. We never had dental care like that when I was little but when My husbands insurance offered it I decided to go for it. I also never had any trouble with my teeth before either. Since I started having my teeth cleaned I noticed that things stick to my teeth that never did before and my teeth get yelloe a lot faster then they used to. They dont feel the same as they used to. i used to be able to brush once a day and be fine. Now I feel like I have to brush after every meal. Do you think that the unnessasary cleaning is wearing away the natural coating on my teeth?
Wow I didnt realize my question was that negative.
My husband does not qualify for health insurance due to a heart attack he had last year. He is only 41. His teeth are badly infected, from past health problem. He had cancer when he was 24 and the treatments are not good on your teeth. When he had this heart attack the doctor told him that he needed to take care of his teeth immediately or he would suffer another heart attack. We are desperate, cant afford to do this on our own as with a cancer patient you just cant have your teeth pulled they have to be surgically removed and only so many at a time.
recently i have had some slight pain around my 2nd bicuspid/1st molar area. the tooth has hurt some, but the gum on the inside seems quite inflamed & swollen. when i brush my teeth the area between these two bleeds, substantially more than i have seem before, but stops relatively soon after. my dental history is pretty good: a few cavities – i do tend to have periods of great dental care and then sometimes when i slack off with my brushing and flossing especially, although i have never had a problem more than a bit of bleeding when i begin to floss again. while im sure alot of people will answer this with -BRUSH & FLOSS ALL THE TIME AT LEAST 2X A DAY – i am looking for a bit more in depth idea of what my problem could be. i am due to see the dentist soon but do not know if this should prompt me to get a more immediate appointment because there could be a serious problem. researching inflamed gums online gives me a list of disease possibilities, but i am not sure if the fact that my problem is concentrated to just one area makes a difference. thanks!!
I really don’t know how to go about this but, I am a independent college student and growing up my family wasn’t able to offer me the dental care I needed. I am in need of severe cavity treatment, braces and other corrective procedures. I just want to be able to smile again and not be self conscious. I checked with a local dentist and he estimated all my work needed costing around 5,000. *sigh* I will be toothless by the time I can afford that.
